Boyle notes that these are original records of all informative processes (i.e., investigations into priests and parishes) conducted outside the Roman Curia with respect to the provision of bishops. The series also includes copies of informative processes conducted within the curia itself. The originals of these processes are located in Dataria Apostolica series Processus datariae. (Copies of the processes conducted outside the Roman Curia are also there.)
